I’m Ruth O’Donoghue, a product designer who builds tools that feel human, even when the problems aren’t. Currently designing at Kubicle, based in Dublin, IE.
6 years’ experience designing B2B platforms, mobile apps, and VR tools. I work closely with engineers and PMs to turn complex systems into clear, scalable solutions.
I’m all about designing with (not just for) others. From whiteboards to tokens, I love the process of thinking, building, and refining things side by side.
I make it easier to ship. I’m deeply familiar with business logic, user needs and the edge cases that often get missed. I design to drive clarity and confidence.

01. Kubicle Administrator Dashboard

A system-level redesign of the administrator experience at Kubicle, focused on creating a scalable, modular interface for managing enterprise learning. The goal was to streamline complex permission-based workflows and improve usability across a wide range of admin scenarios. We restructured the information architecture, introduced schema-driven components, and aligned the UI with our updated design system. The result: a cleaner, smarter admin experience built to grow with the platform, with an 80% decrease in support tickets related to reporting and exports and 1.5× faster page loads thanks to reduced front-end technical debt.

02. Kubicle AI Assignments

A product extension for Kubicle’s Projects feature, introducing AI-powered assignments to provide instant grading and feedback for learners. Our aim was to make the learning experience more interactive and scalable while supporting admins with clearer insights. We delivered learner-first experience that integrates AI in a clear & human-centred way, leading to a 35% increase in assignment of projects to cohorts, and 67% of learners reporting greater confidence in applying their skills.

03. Netflix Quick Play Concept

A reimagining of Netflix’s content discovery experience, focused on reducing decision fatigue and helping users choose faster and watch smarter. The challenge was tackling overloaded interfaces and ineffective recommendations without adding more noise. I prototyped lightweight, contextual entry points like Quick Play and reorganised existing patterns to support faster, lower-effort decision-making. The result is a more focused, frictionless discovery experience that helps users get to content they love, faster.
